With a location only 20 miles from Minneapolis on the Minnesota river, the city of Shakopee, MN has both the atmosphere of a small town and the resources and opportunities of a large metro area. Shakopee is the county seat of Scott County, which is one of the fastest growing counties in the country.
The city has a historic downtown business district and has many attractions which draw more than 4 million visitors a year. Some of the local attractions include Valleyfair Amusement Park and Canterbury Racetrack. Also in Shakopee is the Historic Murphy’s Landing, a living history museum where costumed performers teach about early American pioneer life.
