About Bloomington, MN
Located in southern Hennepin County Bloomington has grown into a dynamic urban center of more than 85,000 residents and 100,000 employees since its founding in 1858. It is bordered by I-494 to the north, Hwy 169 to the west and the Minnesota River to the east and south. The Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport is directly north of the city. The Airport South District, which contains the Mall of America, is connected to the airport and downtown Minneapolis by the Metro-Transit light rail Hiawatha Line.
